Chapter 14 — The Shut Door GSAM 214

“WHILE they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” 1Matthew 25:10. GSAM 214.1

The coming of the Bridegroom introduced in this parable is not the coming of Christ to the earth, but to the marriage. The marriage is an event that takes place before the Lord’s coming. It is expressed in the Gospel recorded by Luke thus: “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; and ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.” 2Luke 12:35, 36.
