Mrs. White, with W. C. White and family, returned to America in 1886. The same year Elder J. H. Waggoner was invited to connect with the Central European Mission. He spent over two years in this field, making his home, during this time, at Basel. It was in this city that his death occurred, April 20, 1889, as previously stated. GSAM 407.3
The failing health of Elder Whitney, and his subsequent death (April 9, 1889), was another grievous stroke to this mission. GSAM 407.4
