Picture: Counsel #26 — The Old You CI 65.1
It’s amazing how words spoken years ago can still shape the way you see yourself today. Maybe it wasn’t even one harsh comment, but a pattern of insensitive remarks from a parent who always pointed out your flaws, or a teacher who never believed in you. Sure, you may be older now, but those past voices had a way of sinking in and sticking with you. CI 65.2
Although words hurt, here’s something you may have never been told: They were wrong. Their words said more about their limitations than your worth, so you don’t have to carry their labels anymore. People may have underestimated you, but God never did. He built you with purpose, strength, and value that no one gets to define but Him. Think of it like clearing out a closet full of clothes that never fit right. It’s time to toss out the names, assumptions, and judgments that don’t reflect who you really are and replace them with the truth - that you’re capable, unique, and deeply valued. You’re never stuck with the identity someone else gave you, and you get to decide how you carry yourself going forward.[65] https://finds.life.church/hard-overcome-labels/ CI 65.3
