Counsel #8 — Pause for Peace CMH 10

Picture: Counsel #8 — Pause for Peace CMH 10.1

Do you sometimes feel totally overwhelmed? Here’s a secret weapon: pause in the chaos! Step back, take a breath, and let your mind reset. In that quiet moment, reach out to God; He’s ready to help and guide you through the storm. With Him, that tiny break can clear your head and calm your heart.[8] https://ssnet.org/blog/why-its-good-to-just-relax-and-think/ CMH 10.2

God promises to give you rest for your soul, and He is faithful to keep His promises! Real peace comes when we stop clinging to control and let Jesus lead. When your life is in His hands, you don’t have to fight every insult, frustration, or disappointment. By consciously choosing to pause and turn to Him, you stop trying to fix everything on your own. You can then allow God’s supernatural peace to fill your entire being. His presence brings joy that the world can’t steal.[9] https://stewardship.adventist.org/remembering-god%E2%80%99s-faithfulness CMH 10.3

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28, 29 NKJV CMH 10.4

“Many who profess to be [Jesus’] followers have an anxious, troubled heart… It is the love of self that brings unrest. When we are born from above the same mind will be in us that was in Jesus....” Ellen White in The Desire of Ages, pp. 330, 331 CMH 10.5

Reflect: How does stopping to consider God’s past faithfulness help you trust Him with your current anxieties? CMH 10.6
