Picture: Counsel #16 — Believe He Accepts You! CSL 54.1
Picture this: a husband looks at his wife, someone he deeply cares for, and says with all his heart, "Honey, I love you so much, and I’m so happy you’re my wife!" Now, imagine if she turned to him and said, "Nah, I don’t believe you really love me or that you’re happy we got married!" Ouch, right? That would absolutely crush his heart. CSL 54.2
Well, it’s kind of like that with God. When you doubt His love for you, when you can’t bring yourself to believe that He died for you personally and has forgiven all the wrong things you’ve confessed and turned away from, it really hurts Him. Think about it — He’s offered you this incredible gift of forgiveness and the certainty of being saved. So, instead of doubting, why not just settle into God’s love? Actually, go even further — soak it in and enjoy it![68] https://www.adventist.org/experience-of-salvation/how-to-know-youre-saved/ CSL 54.3
“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” John 20:31 NKJV CSL 54.4
“You have confessed your sins and chosen to put them out of your life. You have decided to give yourself to God. Now go to Him and ask Him to wash away your sins. Ask Him to give you a new heart, a new mind. Then believe that He does this, because He has promised.” Ellen White in Steps to Jesus, p. 47 CSL 54.5
Reflect: How does God’s faithfulness to keep His promises encourage you to trust that He accepts and saves you? CSL 54.6
