Picture: Counsel #10 — Peace Through Yoking with Christ CSL 109.1
The inward and outward peace we experience comes directly from “yoking” with Christ. As we take time to regularly meditate on Jesus being the Lamb of God[135]John 1:29 who takes away our personal sin, we find peace through realizing we are fully pardoned in Christ. We ourselves will never be “good enough,” but abiding in Christ, we are complete. CSL 109.2
When we are yoked with Christ, we can walk through the increasing chaos and changes in our world with His supernatural peace. He walks through the valley of trouble with us, bearing our burdens, anxieties, and stress, enabling us to trust Him fully “though the heavens fall.” The CSL 109.3
promise that God is "our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble," counteracts the fear of our natural, “unyoked” heart.[136] https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/times-of-trouble/ CSL 109.4
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest [peace] for your souls.” Matthew 11:28, 29 NKJV CSL 109.5
“We have an all-powerful Saviour. Looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith, you can say, ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, tho the earth be removed, and tho the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; tho the waters thereof roar and be troubled, tho the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.’” Ellen White in Signs of the Times , January 3, 1906, par. 4 CSL 109.6
Reflect: Do you struggle with feeling "not good enough?" How does the concept of being "complete in Christ" address that struggle? CSL 109.7
