Counsel #16 — Bridging the Gap CSI 34

Picture: Counsel #16 — Bridging the Gap CSI 34.7

Imagine trying to run a race where some people get brand-new shoes and a smooth track, while others have to run barefoot through gravel. That’s what education funding disparities due to racism look like. For generations, schools in Black, Hispanic, and Native American communities have been underfunded because of systemic inequalities tied to housing, segregation, and tax systems in the United States. Even today, schools in predominantly minority neighborhoods often receive fewer resources, outdated textbooks, overcrowded classrooms, and fewer advanced courses compared to schools in wealthier, usually whiter, areas. As this injustice problem continues to spread, a singular question continues to oppress the minds of those advocating for equality: What can we do about it? Fighting to bridge the education gap isn’t just a political issue—it’s a spiritual one. It means standing up for fairness, dignity, and hope for every student made in God’s image. God’s heart is for justice, and every young person deserves a chance at real success, not just those born in the “right” skin color. The race must be fair because God cares for every runner.[73] https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/in-the-midst-of-racism/ CSI 34.9
