Picture: Counsel #25 — The Sabbath after Christ’s Resurrection CCW 102.1
Even after Jesus rose from the dead, the apostles continued keeping the seventh-day Sabbath. Sometimes they met in synagogues, sharing the good news of the risen Savior with the Jews. Other times, they met out in the countryside where no Christian church had yet been built.[162]Acts 16:13 Wherever they were, one thing stayed the same: the Sabbath day of rest never changed. CCW 102.2
For example, when Paul and his companions came to Antioch, they went into the synagogue on the Sabbath. After the Scriptures were read, the leaders invited them to share a message, which he did, saying, “Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen!”[163]Acts 13:14-16 CCW 102.3
Some people point to the resurrection as a reason for Sunday worship, but the Bible never shows Christ or His apostles switching the Sabbath. Their lives reflected consistency—keeping the day God had blessed from the beginning at creation.[164] https://adventist.org/beliefs/bible/sabbath/the-sabbath-throughout-the-bible-and-at-the-end-times#jesus-came-to-earth-to-fulfil-the-law:~:text=%2C%20ESV).-,Jesus%20came%20to%20earth%20to%20fulfil%20the%20Law,-In%20Matthew%205 CCW 102.4
“Paul went into the synagogue to see the Jews as he always did. The next three weeks, on each Sabbath day, he discussed the Scriptures with them.” Acts 17:2 CCW 102.5
“In the first centuries the true Sabbath had been kept by all Christians. They were jealous for the honor of God, and, believing that His law is immutable, they zealously guarded the sacredness of its precepts. But with great subtlety Satan worked through his agents to bring about his object. That the attention of the people might be called to the Sunday, it was made a festival in honor of the resurrection of Christ.” Ellen White in The Great Controversy, p. 52 CCW 102.6
