9. Gift of Righteousness in Christ AGP 290

“Now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe.” Romans 3:21, 22. Observe here also the full accord of Mrs. White’s words with the Scriptures: AGP 290.5

“Christ has become our sacrifice and surety. He has become sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Through faith in His name, He imputes unto us His righteousness, and it becomes a living principle in our life.” The Review and Herald, July 12, 1892.

“The righteousness of God is embodied in Christ. We receive righteousness by receiving Him.” “Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing,” p. 54, edition 1900.

“The law demands righteousness, and this the sinner owes to the law; but he is incapable of rendering it. The only way in which he can attain to righteousness is through faith.” The Review and Herald, November 4, 1980.

“The righteousness by which we are justified is imputed. The righteousness by which we are sanctified is imparted. The first is our title to heaven; the second is our fitness for heaven.” The Review and Herald, June 4, 1895.
