The Seventh-day Adventist Church historically has held that the “cleansing” of the heavenly sanctuary includes a blotting out of the record of sin which must be preceded by a work of judgment. This understanding is reached by comparing Daniel 8:14 with Leviticus 16 and Leviticus 23:26-32.
