The use of the possessive in the expression “word of God” indicates very clearly the source of the oracles of God. If it is His word, it comes from God. It emanates from Him; He speaks the word; it proceeds from His thought and is uttered by Him. We read of “every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4. BSPC 13.8
