Chapter VI - Toward a World-Wide Mission (1850-74)

In this chapter there is a further description of the development of the gradual expansion of the missionary outreach which can be considered as a continuation of the concept of mission in Chapter 6. As a result of the progress in mission additional modifications occurred in the shut-door concept. New insights in the interpretation of the parable of the ten virgins indicated not only its past but also its present relevance. The mission of the third angel emerged from being primarily a mission in North America to a mission on a world-wide scope.
