Psalm 29

1 Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings; ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.ISV — Psalm 29:1

2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD wearing holy attire.ISV — Psalm 29:2

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.ISV — Psalm 29:4

5 The voice of the LORD snaps the cedars; ^{c29:5 i.e. a genus of coniferous evergreen in the family Pinaceae; and so throughout the book} the LORD snaps the cedars of Lebanon.ISV — Psalm 29:5

6 He makes them stagger like a calf, even Lebanon and Sirion ^{d29:6 i.e. Mount Hermon; cf. Deut 3:9} like a young wild ox.ISV — Psalm 29:6

7 The voice of the LORD shoots out flashes of fire.ISV — Psalm 29:7

8 The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the voice of the LORD shakes ^{e29:8 The Heb. lacks shakes} the wilderness of Kadesh.ISV — Psalm 29:8

9 The voice of the LORD causes deer to give birth, and strips the forest bare. In his Temple all of them shout, “Glory!”ISV — Psalm 29:9

10 The LORD sat enthroned over the flood, and the LORD sits as king forever.ISV — Psalm 29:10

11 The LORD will give strength to his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.ISV — Psalm 29:11
