    Psalm 29

    1 Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings; ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.ISV — Psalm 29:1

    2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD wearing holy attire.ISV — Psalm 29:2

    4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.ISV — Psalm 29:4

    5 The voice of the LORD snaps the cedars; c29:5 i.e. a genus of coniferous evergreen in the family Pinaceae; and so throughout the book the LORD snaps the cedars of Lebanon.ISV — Psalm 29:5

    6 He makes them stagger like a calf, even Lebanon and Sirion d29:6 i.e. Mount Hermon; cf. Deut 3:9 like a young wild ox.ISV — Psalm 29:6

    7 The voice of the LORD shoots out flashes of fire.ISV — Psalm 29:7
