Psalm 82

1 God takes his stand in the divine assembly; among the divine ^{a82:1 Or angelic} beings ^{b82:1 Or the gods} he renders judgment:ISV — Psalm 82:1

2 “How long will you judge partially by showing favor on the wicked? ^{c82:2 Lit. you lift the face} InterludeISV — Psalm 82:2

3 “Defend the poor and the fatherless. Vindicate the afflicted and the poor.ISV — Psalm 82:3

4 Rescue the poor and the needy, delivering them from the power of the wicked.ISV — Psalm 82:4

5 They neither know nor understand; they walk about in the dark while all the foundations of the earth are shaken.ISV — Psalm 82:5

6 “Indeed I said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High.ISV — Psalm 82:6

7 However, as all human beings do, you will die, and like other rulers, you will fall.’ISV — Psalm 82:7

8 Arise, God, to judge the earth, for all nations belong to you.ISV — Psalm 82:8
