Brings Shame to the Wicked, December 11

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, My servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, My servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, My servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed. Isaiah 65:13.RRe 347.1

While to the wicked the advent of the Lord brings woe and desolation, to the righteous it is fraught with joy and hope.—The Great Controversy, 339.RRe 347.2

It is at midnight that God manifests His power for the deliverance of His people. The sun appears, shining in its strength. Signs and wonders follow in quick succession. The wicked look with terror and amazement upon the scene, while the righteous behold with solemn joy the tokens of their deliverance....RRe 347.3

Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a man’s hand.... The people of God know this to be the sign of the Son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth, becoming lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, its base a glory like consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror.... No human pen can portray the scene; no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor.—The Great Controversy, 636-641.RRe 347.4

Those who really love the Saviour cannot but hail with gladness the announcement founded upon the Word of God, that He in whom their hopes of eternal life are centered, is coming again, not to be insulted, despised, and rejected, as at His first advent, but in power and glory, to redeem His people. It is those who do not love the Saviour, that desire Him to remain away.—The Great Controversy, 340.RRe 347.5
