Ever since Pilate had seen Jesus, he was convinced that Jesus was not a common man. Pilate believed that Jesus had an excellent character and was completely innocent. The watching angels noticed that Pilate believed Jesus was not guilty. SRme 1.951
An angel was sent to Pilate's wife to try to keep Pilate from the terrible act of crucifying Jesus. The angel told Pilate's wife in a dream SRme 1.952
that the Man who stood before her husband was the Son of God. The angel told Pilate's wife that Jesus was innocent. Immediately she sent a message to Pilate telling him of her dream. She warned him to have nothing to do with killing Jesus. SRme 1.953
The messenger pushed through the crowd and placed the letter in Pilate's hands. As Pilate read the message, he trembled. His face paled. At once Pilate decided to have nothing to do with crucifying Jesus. The Jews might be determined to kill Jesus, but Pilate would not help them. He would work to save Jesus. SRme 1.954
