Picture: Counsel #26 — Spiritual Teammate CR 173.1
In today’s world, being with someone that’s cute or fun to be around isn’t enough. A true soul mate is someone who doesn’t just like that you love God, but they’ll run after Him with you. Find someone who wants their life to matter for something bigger than themselves, and make sure they want to do that with you.[180] https://www.discipleheart.com/christian-family/seeking-a-spouse-and-godly-courtships/testimonies-of-godly-courtships/courtship-testimony-of-dan-and-rosemarie-augsburger CR 173.2
That’s truly what makes a relationship feel solid — a shared purpose. Working together for God doesn’t have to mean doing something huge or flashy. It can look like praying before big decisions, showing up to serve at church even when you’re tired, or encouraging each other to stay grounded when life feels overwhelming. It might mean leading a small group, mentoring someone younger in their faith, or just living in a way that shows people what real, God-centered love looks like in action. The right person will make you feel more focused and more inspired to do what God’s calling you to do. You’ll both still have your own individuality and gifts, but together, your impact will multiply. So, examine your relationship, not just asking, “Do we love each other?” but “Are we building God’s kingdom together?” CR 173.3
