Having a healthy self-image doesn’t mean thinking you’re better than everyone else. It means learning to see yourself the way God does - loved, chosen, valued, and in process. Self-respect is never about ego or perfection but is based on the knowledge that you’re a child of God, and that nothing you do will ever change His love for you. CI 49.2

Some people think confidence is pride, but when you believe that God formed you with intention and calls you His own, you recognize you don’t need to chase approval or prove your worth through achievements, appearance, or popularity. A healthy self-image acknowledges both your strengths and your weaknesses, and allows you to celebrate progress without becoming arrogant. Additionally, having self-respect means you can admit failure without falling apart. Why? Because your value isn’t tied to performance. It’s tied to the unchanging love of your Creator. The world will undoubtedly try to define you by how you look, what you own, or what you do, but God defines you by who you belong to — Him![47] https://stewardship.adventist.org/value,-self-worth CI 49.3
