Need to de-stress? Your pet might be a key! CMH 24.2

Hanging out with a furry friend can lower your levels of cortisol, the main stress hormone, and reduce your blood pressure. Spending quality time with a pet can help you feel less lonely and give your mood a major boost. CMH 24.3

Simply petting a dog can release oxytocin, often called the "love hormone," which is linked to feelings of trust and bonding. Plus, dogs are amazing for companionship and social support, especially if you live alone or feel a bit isolated. CMH 24.4

Don’t forget about cats! A cat’s purr has a super calming effect and can help lower your blood pressure. Cats are perfect for providing comfort and companionship. Even other pets, like rabbits or fish, can help you unwind by offering a welcome distraction from your worries and promoting a sense of calm.[26] https://health.ucdavis.edu/blog/cultivating-health/health-benefits-of-pets-how-your-furry-friend-improves-your-mental-and-physical-health/2024/04 CMH 24.5

“But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.” Job 12:7 NKJV CMH 24.6

“The animals see and hear and love and fear and suffer…. Many animals show an affection for those who have charge of them, far superior to the affection shown by some of the human race. They form attachments for man which are not broken without great suffering to them.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing, p. 315 CMH 24.7
