Counsel #25 — Spiritual Trust CMH 27

Picture: Counsel #25 — Spiritual Trust CMH 27.1

Trusting Jesus and being fully surrendered to Him in every part of your life is the very heart of Christian faith. It’s not just believing He exists—even demons believe[29]James 2:19—it’s actively relying on His character and promises, even when things are unclear. CMH 27.2

Think of it like building muscle; You start with small weights and consistent practice before you can lift something heavy. In the same way, you build the habit of trusting Jesus one small challenge at a time. When you hand over little worries—like a stressful day, financial difficulties, or deadline, you’re strengthening your spiritual muscles. You’re learning to let go and lean on His faithfulness. CMH 27.3

This practice prepares you for the big storms. When a major disappointment, loss, or even persecution happens, your spiritual roots will be deep and strong. You’ll have a history of His faithfulness to lean on, and that memory will ground you. While trusting Him doesn’t remove the pain, it provides a firm foundation, so even when the ground is shaking, you know Jesus is right with you.[30] https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/sda-health-message/trust-in-god/ CMH 27.4

"If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?” Jeremiah 12:5 NIV CMH 27.5

“Wait upon God. Lean upon Him in entire dependence; for His everlasting arms will sustain you.” Ellen White in The Signs of the Times, February 28, 1906, par. 5 CMH 27.6

Reflect: What could you choose to hand over to Jesus this week to strengthen your spiritual trust? CMH 27.7
