It might seem amazing, but when you choose Jesus as your Savior from the consequences of your sins and accept the gift of His perfect goodness, God then sees you in the exact same way He sees His own Son. Essentially, you’re "clothed" in Christ’s righteousness[19]Righteousness = Christ’s perfect goodness because you accept His death for you on the cross. With Jesus living in your heart, the Holy Spirit gives you true repentance for your sins, empowering you to sincerely and humbly obey God as He gently, and with loving pity, restores His character of love in you day by day.[20] https://adventistreview.org/the-word/jesus-my-righteousness/ CSL 20.2
God has a special plan just for you—a specific job He wants you to do to help grow His kingdom here on Earth. Pray that God’s Spirit will reveal that plan to you! CSL 20.3
“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV CSL 20.4
“Those who with sincere will, with contrite heart, are putting forth humble efforts to live up to the requirements of God, are looked upon by the Father with pitying, tender love; He regards such as obedient children, and the righteousness of Christ is imputed unto them.” Ellen White in Our High Calling, p. 51 CSL 20.5
Reflect: Considering that God looks with "gentle, loving pity" on those who sincerely try to follow His ways, how does this understanding of His tenderness impact your perspective on your own efforts and shortcomings? CSL 20.6
