In Western society, sweets, sodas, fries, and packaged foods are consumed far more than healthy alternatives; the value of eating vegetables is often overlooked. CWe 133.2

To ensure you eat enough daily veggies, you must be intentional. If filling half of your plate with colorful vegetables each meal is too unrealistic for you, you can always start small. Snacking on carrots instead of chips or adding spinach to your smoothies are simple ways to ensure you’re consuming a variety of veggies throughout the day. The word “vegetable” could easily replace the word “apple” in the infamous phrase, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” and would still be accurate. It may seem like a catchphrase used by medical professionals (or your mom!), but you can trust that it’s not just a gimmick! Veggies are rich in fiber, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants, and consuming them daily will strengthen your immune system, reduce the risk of chronic disease in the body, and support overall digestion. Although incorporating veggies into your daily meals may be difficult at first, if you pray for discipline, God will give you the strength and self-control to make wiser food choices![169] https://www.seventhdayadventistdiet.com/high-protein-vegetables/ CWe 133.3
