Just as physical exercise increases your appetite, serving others can awaken a deeper hunger for righteousness and a desire for a closer walk with Christ. When you extend love, compassion, and care to those in need, it shifts your focus away from yourself, replacing it with God’s heart for humanity. CWe 112.2

This act of selflessness mirrors Jesus’ life and inspires a desire to grow in His likeness. CWe 112.3

For example, volunteering at a local food bank will allow you to meet the tangible needs of others while also reflecting Christ’s love. As you offer a kind word or share a meal with someone, you may find your heart softening and developing a stronger pull to live out God’s commands. Ultimately, as you continue to serve and extend acts of selflessness, you’ll see God’s nature become your own as you find true joy and fulfillment in loving your neighbor[144]Matthew 22:39 and helping “the least of these.” Serving truly is a spiritual exercise that strengthens your faith and deepens your hunger to align your life with God’s will.[145] https://stage.www.adventist.org/remnant-and-its-mission/mission/service/ CWe 112.4
