Argument of Alonzo T. Jones before the United States Senate
Committee on Education and Labor, Feb. 22, 1889.
The following resolution was offered in the United States Senate, May 25, 1888, by Senator Henry W. Blair, of New Hampshire. We present an exact copy:—

“Joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States respecting establishments of Religion and Free Public Schools.RPS 3.2
“Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled (two-thirds of each House concurring therein), That the following amendment to the Constitution of the United States be, and hereby is, proposed to the States, to become valid when ratified by the Legislatures of three-fourths of the States, as provided in the Constitution:—RPS 3.3
