The enduring relevance of the messages

Just as essential now—The first and second messages were given in 1843 and 1844, and we are now under the proclamation of the third; but all three of the messages are still to be proclaimed. It is just as essential now as ever before that they shall be repeated to those who are seeking for the truth. By pen and voice we are to sound the proclamation, showing their order and the application of the prophecies that bring us to the third angel’s message.—Manuscript 32, 1896 (December 6) (Selected Messages 2:104, 105)3AM 41.1

The messages continue to live—The evidences of the abiding, ever-living truth of these grand messages that mean so much to us, that have awakened such intense opposition from the religious world, are not extinct. Satan is constantly seeking to cast his hellish shadow about these messages, so that the remnant people of God shall not clearly discern their import, their time and place; but they live, and are to exert their power upon our religious experience while time shall last.—Letter 1f, 1890 (November) (Selected Messages 3:405)3AM 41.2

Truth for this time—God has given the messages of Revelation 14 their place in [the] line of prophecy, and their work is not to cease till the close of this earth’s history. The first and second angels’ messages are still truth for this time and are to run parallel with that which follows.—Manuscript 31, 18903AM 41.3

Continues to be present truth—When the third angel’s message is preached as it should be, power attends its proclamation, and it becomes an abiding influence. It must be attended with divine power, or it will accomplish nothing. I am often referred to the parable of the ten virgins, five of whom were wise, and five foolish. This parable has been and will be fulfilled to the very letter, for it has a special application to this time, and, like the third angel’s message, has been fulfilled and will continue to be present truth till the close of time.—The Review and Herald, August 19, 18903AM 41.4

Until the close of the work—We have the truth in the Word of God and the Lord has given to His people the first, second, and third angels’ messages. The burden of these messages in the past is the burden of the messages shown to be proclaimed until the close of the work.—Manuscript 200, 1898 (July 9)3AM 42.1

The messages are revived—We shall soon see stormy times. The messages of the first, second, and third angels are to be revived and proclaimed with great power, under the influence of the Holy Spirit’s unction. The second call will soon be made to the churches.—Letter 56, 1906 (February 1)3AM 42.2
