    John Harvey Kellogg

    John Harvey Kellogg (1852-1943) was known in America and abroad as one of the ablest surgeons of his time. In addition to his surgical skills he invented medical instruments still used today. He was a pioneer in physiotherapy and nutrition. He invented cornflakes and other dry cereal breakfast foods, Protose, and other meat substitutes. He made the Battle Creek Sanitarium into a world-famous center for surgery and health rehabilitation, authored more than 50 books, most of them large scientific works, and many articles for medical journals, besides serving as editor of Good Health.WEWMM 124.1
