    Ephesians

    Key-word, “In Christ, One;Key-verse, 1:3.-In this epic of the New Testament is first clearly brought out identification with Christ. The believer is in and with Christ. (Comp. 1 Corinthians 3:21.) The church, as the building of which he is corner-stone, the body of which he is head, the bride of whom he is bridegroom, is one with him and inseparable from him. The saints are exhorted to such a life as consists with this high calling, and the “mystery” is specially magnified, of the incorporation of the Gentiles into this sacred unity. [p. 115]HBS 43.6
