Counsel #1 — Tapestry Of Humanity

Picture: Counsel #1 — Tapestry Of HumanityCSI 72.1

The concept of being created in God’s image, as described in Genesis, offers a powerful lens through which to examine racial inequities. Each person, regardless of ethnicity, has inherent value and dignity. This intrinsic worth forms the basis for challenging racial discrimination and advocating for equal rights and opportunities.CSI 72.2

Our shared humanity should transcend racial differences, especially for Christians. Jesus mandates that we exercise empathy and understanding as we work to dismantle systems that perpetuate racial inequities.[110]https://www.adventist.org/official-statements/one-humanity-a-human-relations-statement-addressing-racism-casteism-tribalism-and-ethnocentrism/CSI 72.3

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27 NKJVCSI 72.4

“The black man’s name is written in the book of life beside the white man’s. All are one in Christ. Birth, station, nationality, or color cannot elevate or degrade man. If a red man, a Chinaman, or an African gives his heart to God, in obedience and faith, Jesus loves him none the less for his color. He calls him his well-beloved brother.” Ellen White in The Southern Work, pp. 12, 13CSI 72.5
