Counsel #21 — Sharing the Gospel on Sabbath

Picture: Counsel #21 — Sharing the Gospel on SabbathCCW 98.1

The Sabbath carries a double blessing: it draws us nearer to God and binds us closer to one another. Yet this blessing is not automatic—it only happens when we open our hearts to receive it. Sabbath resting does not mean spending its precious hours in bed. Instead, these holy hours invite us to step away from ordinary pursuits and open our hearts to the day’s sacred purpose. This time is meant for worship, rest, and sharing the message of Christ with others.CCW 98.2

In Antioch one Sabbath, when Paul and Barnabas had preached the gospel, the people longed to hear more. By the next Sabbath, nearly the whole city gathered to listen to the word of God! What began as a single message stirred an entire community.[155]Acts 13:42-44CCW 98.3

In Thessalonica, Paul preached for three Sabbaths from Scripture about Christ’s life, ministry, sacrifice, resurrection, and His coming glory. He revealed how the Old Testament, when seen through Christ’s ministry, unfolds its deepest meaning, offering rich treasures.CCW 98.4

When we set apart the Sabbath hours with intention, it becomes a channel for His grace to reach the world through us.[156] https://adventistreview.org/experiences/testimonies/the-sabbath-that-jesus-came-to-church/ CCW 98.5

“Jesus taught in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.” Luke 13:10 ERVCCW 98.6
