Picture: Counsel #19 — Sing Your Trust! CWe 21.1

In navigating life’s challenges, we often rely on our own human capabilities—our intelligence, financial security, or social influence. However, only God can offer true, lasting security. Shifting our focus from our own limited abilities to God’s immense power and authority requires a leap of faith, but it will result in a trust that strengthens every time we surrender control to Him. CWe 21.2

When we’re faced with challenges, singing thanks to God redirects our attention from our difficulties to His constant support. We acknowledge His presence and promises in song, replacing our worries with lyrical affirmations of trust in Him. Music and words become a pathway for our faith, allowing us to release our burdens to the One who can truly carry them. Leaning into God’s compassion naturally produces in us joyful praise for His saving grace. Singing praises to Him is more than just making musical sounds; it’s a heartfelt expression of gratitude for His faithfulness.[21] https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/ellen-g-white/what-was-ellen-g-whites-counsel-on-music/ CWe 21.3

“But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.” Psalms 13:5, 6 NKJV CWe 21.4

“Let praise and thanksgiving be expressed in song. When tempted, instead of giving utterance to our feelings, let us by faith lift up a song of thanksgiving to God…. Song is a weapon that we can always use against discouragement.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing , (1905), p. 254 CWe 21.5
