3. What does the vision of Daniel 2 say about the time of Jesus’ coming?

Nebuchadnezzar’s encompassing dream of the metallic image traces earth history from the time of Babylon through to our time and beyond. After the head representing Babylon, the statue’s chest and arms represented Medo-Persia; the brass belly and thighs symbolized Greece; the legs of iron signified Rome in both its pagan and papal phase; and the feet of unmixed clay and iron symbolized Europe following the breakup of the Roman Empire. It is after the passing of those world empires that the stone cut out without hands—representing Christ’s coming and eternal kingdom—crushes the statue and fills the entire earth.
