    8. When Jesus comes, what happens to those who are not followers of Jesus?

For the saved, Jesus’ second coming is a time of ecstatic joy and triumph, but for the lost it will be a time of devastation and terror in which they cry for the rocks and the mountains to fall on them (Revelation 6:16, 17). The wicked, including those responsible for enforcing the Mark of the Beast, will be cast “into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” In Revelation 20:10, those who at one time accepted Jesus, but lost their faith; those who reject His righteousness; or who try to enter heaven on their own merits, will be destroyed by the brightness of His coming, cast out to darkness. Too late will the world realize that not everyone will be saved, but only those who have accepted the righteousness of Christ as their only means of salvation.JTL6 5.6
