The third meeting of the Medical Missionary and Benevolent Association convened in the Sanitarium chapel at 11 A. M.,March 12. Prayer was offered by J. E. Jayne.GCB January 1, 1897, page 63.15

The Chair invited Mrs. S. M. I. Henry to address the meeting, giving an outline of her experience in Christian Help work while engaged in the W. C. T. U. organization, as she had been a prominent worker there for twenty years. Mrs. Henry gave a history of some typical cases, and made mention of the several rescue missions in the city of Chicago, now the leading missions of the city. Her remarks were well received, with much satisfaction and profit.GCB January 1, 1897, page 63.16

The Chair then gave an account of the establishment and conduct of the Arnold Mission in this city, and that although it had been in operation less than six months, over fifty persons have been converted, and many of them are profitably employed, and bid fair to continue steadfast.GCB January 1, 1897, page 63.17

Dr. Kress and Dr. Hare spoke favorably of the work, and statements were made as to how the work may be started and continued successfully. Elders Bicknell, Waggoner, Prescott, and others related various incidents in fields which they had visited, and Elder Moon also spoke of the same line of work in Washington, supplemented by remarks by Dr. Lauretta Kress.GCB January 1, 1897, page 63.18

Judge O. R. Carter, county judge of Cook county, Ill., a patient stopping at the Sanitarium, gave his hearty endorsement of our medical missionary work in Chicago, and spoke of the great necessities for this particular branch of work in Chicago.GCB January 1, 1897, page 64.1
