    5. The tithe principle is divine in origin.

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises. Hebrews 7:6.TithPG 8.8

    Malachi 3:7, 10; Hebrews 7:6; Genesis 14:18-20; Galatians 3:29; Romans 4:11; Hebrews 7:14-17.TithPG 8.9

“But the tithing system did not originate with the Hebrews. From the earliest times the Lord named the tithe as His; and this claim was recognized and honored. Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedec, the priest of the Most High God. Jacob, when at Bethel, in exile and a wanderer, promised the Lord, ‘of all that Thou shall give me I will surely give a tenth to thee.’ As the Israelites were about to be established as a nation, the law of tithing was reaffirmed, as one of the divinely ordained statues upon obedience to which their prosperity depended.” Patriarchs and Prophets, 525.TithPG 8.10
