    Milk

    In 1870: “We think a moderate amount of milk from a healthy cow not objectionable.”—Counsels on Diet and Foods, 357.CBPH 83.11

    In 1870: “Large quantities of milk and sugar eaten together are injurious.”—Counsels on Diet and Foods, 330.CBPH 83.12

    In 1873: “We have always used a little milk and some sugar. This we have never denounced, either in our writings or in our preachings.”—Counsels on Diet and Foods, 356.CBPH 83.13

    In 1890: “Fruit, grains, and vegetables, prepared in a simple way, free from spice and grease of all kinds, make, with milk or cream, the most healthful diet.”—Counsels on Diet and Foods, 92.CBPH 83.14
