    “Abide in Me”

Christ bids us, “‘Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. ... He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. ... If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. ... You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.’” John 15:4-16.MHH 303.1

“‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.’” Revelation 3:20.MHH 303.2

“‘To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.’” Revelation 2:17.MHH 303.3

“‘He who overcomes ... I will give him the morning star.’” “‘I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God. ... And I will write on him My new name.’” Verses 26-28; 3:12.MHH 303.4

Every person whose trust is in God will be able to say with the apostle Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13. Whatever the mistakes or failures of the past, we may, with the help of God, rise above them. With Paul we may say, “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13, 14, KJV.MHH 303.5
