The Bible doesn’t specify how frequently the Lord’s Supper should be celebrated. Early Seventh-day Adventists were concerned that if the service were celebrated too frequently, there might be a tendency toward formalism or the rite becoming commonplace, with insufficient spiritual preparation. Following the practice of many Protestants, Adventists eventually chose to have this ordinance four times a year.JTLD 368.2
