    Counsel #15 — Christlike Character

    Picture: Counsel #15 — Christlike CharacterCI 17.1

Being renewed in the image of God isn’t just about looking like a “good Christian” on the outside. It’s more of a deep, inward transformation that starts in the heart. When you truly give your life to Christ, the way you think, respond, speak, and treat people will start to reflect His love, patience, mercy, and truth.CI 17.2

Trying to align your character with God isn’t a simple task. It’s impossible for humans to lead righteous lives without Christ’s strength combining with your effort, your choices. You have to be willing to let go of pride, bitterness, selfishness, anger, lust, and anything else that doesn’t align with who God is. You have to learn how to forgive quickly and show compassion to everyone. Being changed in God’s image isn’t only a renewal, it’s a rebirth. The old you will no longer exist once the Holy Spirit takes over. When you live from the perspective that Heaven is your home, people will know. Keep in mind that real renewal is a day-by-day process — never expect permanent change to happen instantly. The more you lean into God, the more your life will begin to look like the One who created you.[16] https://belizeunion.org/100-days-of-prayer-2022/day-80-reflecting-the-character-of-christ/ CI 17.3
