    Counsel #27 — Unashamed

    Picture: Counsel #27 — UnashamedCI 185.1

When your self-esteem is low, it’s easy to believe that you’re not worth much. Maybe you constantly replay past mistakes, compare yourself to others, or feel like no matter what you do, it’ll never be enough. That’s the trap of shame. It’s Satan’s way of drowning out the truth of who God says you are.CI 185.2

The gospel wasn’t made for people who have it all together. It was made for people who are tired, hurting, and stuck in a repeated cycle of trying to find their purpose in this world. God doesn’t retreat in the presence of the brokenhearted. He moves toward it with grace. When you’re feeling down, remember that Jesus didn’t die so you could stay trapped in guilt. He died to set you free from it. If you’ve been looking for an escape in things that will only temporarily numb the pain, like social media, food, alcohol, or perfectionism, try something different. Seek God and rest in the truth that Jesus offers healing, not just survival. That’s the good news, so don’t let shame speak louder than grace.[201] https://greaterlovesdachurch.adventistafrica.org/bibleinfo_topics/guilt?_=1750730700156.7039 CI 185.3
