    Counsel #22 — Boundaries

    Picture: Counsel #22 — BoundariesCI 61.1

Every time you say “yes” to something that drains you, you’re saying “no” to something that could restore you. That’s why setting boundaries is essential. Without them, your time, energy, and even your sense of self can get pulled in a hundred directions, leaving you stretched too thin and spiritually dry.CI 61.2

During His earthly ministry, Jesus set boundaries, too. He withdrew from crowds, said no to certain opportunities, and even rested during a storm. Frankly, He modeled what it looks like to live from a place of purpose rather than pressure. So, what does setting appropriate boundaries look like for you? It might mean turning down a hangout when your soul needs to be at peace, or stepping back from a role you took on just to please someone else. Boundaries help you honor your limits and prioritize what God is really asking of you. So, when guilt creeps in — because it will - remind yourself that peace is a fruit of the Spirit. If saying “yes” costs your peace, it might not be a Spirit-led “yes.”[61] https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/general/the-importance-of-setting-boundaries-10-benefits-for-you-and-your-relationships/ CI 61.3
