Counsel #28 — Focus on Eternity

Picture: Counsel #28 — Focus on EternityCMH 30.1

The closer we get to Jesus’ coming, the more chaos, unrest, violence, injustice, calamities, and other potential sources of anxiety will increase. But we can choose to fix our attention on “the joy that is set before us”—that is, being with Jesus through eternity. What an anchor for our anxious hearts! This world is not our home. There may very well be setbacks, disappointments, heartaches—things that Satan would like to use to disrupt our peace in Jesus. Resist the devil! Remember whose child you are, and cling to Jesus, regardless of what is happening in your life, and experience the peace He gives, which cannot be explained.[35] https://adventist.news/news/happy-ending CMH 30.2

“We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJVCMH 30.3

“Let the afflictions which pain us so grievously become instructive lessons, teaching us to press forward toward the mark of the prize of our high calling in Christ. Let us be encouraged by the thought that the Lord is soon to come. Let this hope gladden our hearts....” Ellen White in Heaven , p. 139CMH 30.4
