Counsel #27 — Actions Speak Louder

Picture: Counsel #27 — Actions Speak LouderCMH 130.1

Here’s the thing - if you regularly spend time with Jesus, it’ll show. You won’t have to tell people; they’ll see it in the way you live. If you profess with your lips that you’re a follower of Christ, yet show no grace, mercy, or love to others around you, then there’s a problem.CMH 130.2

Simply put, it’s impossible to daily spend time in God’s presence and not change to be more like Him. With time, you’ll become more patient when things don’t go your way. When people treat you badly, you’ll show them kindness without expecting anything in return. You’ll be more joyful, more peaceful, and more in control of your actions and emotions - and that’s not by accident! That’s the Holy Spirit working in you, producing what the Bible calls the fruits of the Spirit.[139] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFpqXpNOq-s Just as you adopt the habits and mindset of a best friend, when Jesus becomes your closest Companion, it won’t go unnoticed. Your life will speak for itself—without a word, your actions will quietly say, “I’m with Jesus.”CMH 130.3

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22, 23 NIVCMH 130.4

“As you receive the Spirit of Christ, ... you will grow and bring forth fruit.” Ellen White in Lift Him Up , p. 274CMH 130.5
