Counsel #15 — Role of the Holy Spirit

Picture: Counsel #15 — Role of the Holy SpiritCSL 25.1

Just as you naturally pick up habits and traits from close friends, your relationship with the Holy Spirit will transform you. When you daily and intentionally invite Him into your life, you are receiving the very life of Christ—His attributes, His desires, His joy. Many Christians don’t realize that to experience this profound, identity-changing work, they must fully surrender and ask the Spirit to take over their lives.[29] https://youtu.be/1FSnmVxL5D0?si=GZZh4j_htqAqNqxx CSL 25.2

The Holy Spirit reshapes your identity, making you more and more like Jesus. He purifies your heart, gives you right desires, and fills your life with lasting happiness. The power of sin can only be broken through His mighty presence, the Third Person of the Godhead. This is not a surface change; it’s a miracle of re-creation.CSL 25.3

When you open your heart in faith and yield to God, the Holy Spirit’s unseen power makes you a new person, reflecting the image of God. That transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit, and it is both life-changing and eternal.CSL 25.4

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” Luke 11:13 NKJVCSL 25.5

“We can be fitted for heaven only through the work of the Holy Spirit upon the heart.” Ellen White in The Review and Herald, November 1, 1892, par. 2CSL 25.6

Reflect: How conscious are you of the role the Holy Spirit plays in establishing your identity in Christ? This morning, did you ask for His renewing presence?CSL 25.7
