    Counsel #10 — Jesus’ Rep

    Picture: Counsel #10 — Jesus’ RepCSL 49.1

Think of the Holy Spirit as Jesus’ stand-in here on Earth. Even though Jesus isn’t physically with us anymore, the Holy Spirit is here to do the things Jesus would do, especially to keep us connected to Him.CSL 49.2

The Holy Spirit also helps us see ourselves clearly. He shows us the things we do wrong, our sinfulness. Then the Spirit gently leads us to Jesus, the only one who can "clean us up" and forgive us. He makes us want to turn to Jesus for help and forgiveness and to love Him more.CSL 49.3

The Holy Spirit is not just some distant force. He is Jesus’ very own representative, actively working in our lives. He helps us feel close to Jesus, shows us our need for forgiveness, and guides us to the One who wants to be in a relationship with us forever. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, even though Jesus is in heaven, we can still walk with Him and know His love every day.[61] https://egwwritings.org/read?panels=p14380.2&index=0 CSL 49.4

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” John 15:26 NKJVCSL 49.5

“We can no more repent without the Spirit of Christ to awaken the conscience than we can be pardoned without Christ.” Ellen White in Steps to Christ , p. 26CSL 49.6

Reflect: Consider John 15:26: "He will testify of Me." In what ways have you experienced the Holy Spirit pointing you towards Jesus?CSL 49.7
