Genesis 5

1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created humankind, he made him in God's likeness.NHEB — Genesis 5:1

2 He created them male and female, and blessed them, and called their name "humankind" on the day when they were created.NHEB — Genesis 5:2

3 Adam lived two hundred and thirty years, and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.NHEB — Genesis 5:3

4 The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were seven hundred years, and he became the father of sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:4

5 All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:5

6 Seth lived two hundred and five years, and became the father of Enosh.NHEB — Genesis 5:6

7 Seth lived after he became the father of Enosh seven hundred and seven years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:7

8 All the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:8

9 Enosh lived one hundred and ninety years, and became the father of Kenan.NHEB — Genesis 5:9

10 Enosh lived after he became the father of Kenan, seven hundred and fifteen years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:10

11 All the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:11

12 Kenan lived one hundred and seventy years, and became the father of Mahalalel.NHEB — Genesis 5:12

13 Kenan lived after he became the father of Mahalalel seven hundred and forty years, and fathered sons and daughtersNHEB — Genesis 5:13

14 and all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:14

15 Mahalalel lived one hundred and sixty-five years, and became the father of Jared.NHEB — Genesis 5:15

16 Mahalalel lived after he became the father of Jared seven hundred and thirty years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:16

17 All the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:17

18 Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and became the father of Hanoch.NHEB — Genesis 5:18

19 Jared lived after he became the father of Hanoch eight hundred years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:19

20 All the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:20

21 Hanoch lived one hundred and sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah.NHEB — Genesis 5:21

22 Hanoch walked with God after he became the father of Methuselah two hundred years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:22

23 All the days of Hanoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.NHEB — Genesis 5:23

24 Hanoch walked with God, and then he was not there, for God took him.NHEB — Genesis 5:24

25 Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and became the father of Lamech.NHEB — Genesis 5:25

26 Methuselah lived after he became the father of Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:26

27 All the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:27

28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and became the father of a son,NHEB — Genesis 5:28

29 and he named him Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us in our labor and in the hard work of our hands, because of the ground which God has cursed.”NHEB — Genesis 5:29

30 Lamech lived after he became the father of Noah five hundred and ninety-five years, and fathered sons and daughters.NHEB — Genesis 5:30

31 All the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, then he died.NHEB — Genesis 5:31

32 Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.NHEB — Genesis 5:32
