Psalm 116

1 I love the LORD, because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy.NHEB — Psalm 116:1

2 Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.NHEB — Psalm 116:2

3 The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow.NHEB — Psalm 116:3

4 Then I called on the name of the LORD: "LORD, I beg you, deliver my soul."NHEB — Psalm 116:4

5 The LORD is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is merciful.NHEB — Psalm 116:5

6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.NHEB — Psalm 116:6

7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.NHEB — Psalm 116:7

8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.NHEB — Psalm 116:8

9 I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.NHEB — Psalm 116:9

14 I will pay my vows to the LORD, yes, in the presence of all his people.NHEB — Psalm 116:14

15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful ones.NHEB — Psalm 116:15

16 LORD, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains.NHEB — Psalm 116:16
