    Counsel #17 — Love Required

    Picture: Counsel #17 — Love RequiredCWe 246.1

One of the saddest realities in today’s world is the overwhelming number of homes void of genuine love. Whether raised in a single- or dual-parent household, many people today struggle to understand just how essential love is within the home.CWe 246.2

Love is the foundation for well-being, mental stability, and spiritual development. God calls all believers to create homes rooted in love. Yet, many mistakenly believe that a happy, loving home can be created simply by demanding good behavior. In truth, good behavior must first be modeled. Just as Jesus demonstrated love and service to His disciples, parents are called to do the same for their children. A child should never be expected to display a behavior they haven’t first seen reflected by the leader in the home. That’s why it’s vital to make compassion a constant in your household. A Christ-centered home will only flourish when it is filled with those who are themselves filled with love.[279]https://shortwoodsda.interamerica.org/bibleinfo_questions/what-does-gods-love-look-likeCWe 246.3
