Counsel #23 — Growing Trust Through the Word

Picture: Counsel #23 — Growing Trust Through the WordCWe 25.1

It is God’s deep desire that we would have a more consistent faith and trust in Him. Although information about Him is readily available, skepticism often prevails, making the cultivation of trust in God seem like an arduous task. But as we prayerfully get into the Bible’s living narrative of God’s interaction with people like us, we can connect the dots to see that these are not just ancient stories, but timeless illustrations of God’s character of love, mercy, forgiveness, and protection showing up throughout history.CWe 25.2

For instance, the promise of God’s presence in Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand," becomes more than just words on a page when understood within the broader narrative of God’s care for His people, including you! As we dive deeper, we recognize a God who is not distant or indifferent but actively involved in the lives of all who seek Him.[28] https://adventist.org/identity/history/ellen-white/ellen-white-uplifted-christ-as-our-only-hope CWe 25.3

“Whoever gives attention to the LORD’s word prospers, and blessed is the person who trusts the LORD.” Proverbs 16:20 GWCWe 25.4

“The Word of God must be studied as never before; for it is the precious offering that we must present to [others], in order that they may learn the way of peace….” Ellen White in Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 200CWe 25.5
