All Doors of Access to Unbelievers Closed

Such a condition seemed, for the time being, to shut the door of access to any but those who still held fast their faith and hope in the soon coming of Christ. As the door of utterance appeared so completely closed, and the Adventist people saw that there was a shut door in the parable applying to their experience, it can be readily seen how they arrived at the conclusion that there was no more mercy for sinners: or, as some expressed it, that “the door of mercy was closed,” especially if they thought the shut door in this parable and the shut door in Luke 13 were the same. If the people utterly refused to hear, thus hardening the heart, how could they be converted?GSAM 220.2
