To further understand the relationship between evidence and assumptions, let’s examine another scientific example. Mainstream, naturalistic science firmly holds that amphibians evolved from fish. Any technical publication on vertebrate evolution asserts that the first amphibians emerged from a specific group of fish. The above illustration summarizes the accepted theory of vertebrate evolution, highlighting two key fossils: Eusthenopteron (a fish) and Ichthyostega (an amphibian believed to have evolved from that fish). While other fossils exist, they are not as well preserved. Examine these fossils closely. Do they convince you that amphibians evolved from fish? What features support or raise doubts about this theory?[14]https://www.adventistworld.org/is-there-biological-evidence-of-lifes-recent-creation-part-i/CSe 17.3

“But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you.” James 1:5 NCVCSe 17.4

“Science brings from her research only fresh evidence of the wisdom and power of God. Rightly understood, both the book of nature and the written Word make us acquainted with God by teaching us something of the wise and beneficent laws through which He works.” Ellen White in “What Shall We Teach?” — Domestic Science, pamphlet 124, p. 24.8CSe 17.5
